Games to Play with Grandchildren

When looking for games to play with your kids, play this candy game with them. You'll have a sweet time!

Grandchildren.

Games.

Candy.

Combined together, it doesn’t get better than this!

I’ve got a simple game that is easy (and possibly tasty!) for your grandchildren to learn and play.

Left-Right-Center Candy Game

Items needed: 3 dice, a bunch of individually wrapped candy

Each player begins with 3 pieces of candy.  Decide who goes first. That player rolls all three dice. Then, he will either pass candy to another player or put candy in the center of the table depending on what he rolled.

For every number 3 that is rolled, that player passes one piece of candy to the person on his left. For every number 4 that is rolled, he passes one piece of candy to the person on his right. For every number 5 that is rolled, he puts a piece of candy in the center of the table.

Example: if a player rolled a three, a five, and a one, he gives one piece of candy to the player on his left and puts one piece of candy into the center of the table. He then passes the dice to the player on his left.

Example: if a player rolls two 5s and one 4, he puts two pieces of candy in the center of the table and gives one piece of candy to the player on his right.

If a player has three or more pieces of candy, he can roll all three dice. If he has only two pieces of candy, he can only roll 2 dice. If he has only one piece of candy, he can only roll one dice. If he doesn’t have any pieces of candy, he skips a turn and passes the dice to the player on his left.

If a player does not roll a number 3, 4 or 5 his turn is over. He passes the dice to the player on the left.

Play continues in this manner around and around the table until only one player has candy. That person is the winner!

(Print out the following cards for the Left-Right-Center Game on card stock — and laminate them to make them last longer — to help players remember which direction to give their candy.)

When your grandchildren come for a visit and you’re looking for some games to play, your grandkiddos will have a sweet time playing this one!
