Grandma Ideas Second Giveaway
Here it is folks! Another give away!
Sarah, who works for a public relation agency that represents various children’s products, contacted me and asked if I would be interested in doing a give away. Boy, would I! I thought her offer was absolutely wonderful.
So, today’s give away is the PLAY-DOH Poppin’ Movie Snacks playset. Your grandchildren can create fun “snacks” from their very own movie theater concession stand. They can crank out a bucket of realistic-looking popcorn or create colorful “candy” or a “hot dog” or “french fries” or “ice cream” treats. Yum! They can even mold out a movie ticket.
The set includes a movie theater themed playmat, four 2-ounce cans and one 5-ounce can of PLAY-DOH. It is for children ages 3 years & up. (The approximate retail price is $12.99 and is vailable at most major toy retailers nationwide and on HasbroToyShop.com.)
Our children loved PLAY-DOH. (So did I. I still do!) I think PLAY-DOH is a ‘must have’ to help children build creativity and imagination. And, I think this playset will provide hours of fun for you and your grandchild as you make and “eat” your movie treats and pretend to watch a movie you while you “eating” your treats.
So here’s the deal. Post a comment here about your memories of PLAY-DOH. Or an activity using PLAY-DOH that you have done with your children. Or just any old comment will do (as long as it’s respectful and uses clean language). You have until midnight Friday night, May 7, to post a comment.
I will use randomizer.org to select a winner. I will post the winner’s name on Saturday, May 8. I will contact the winner to get mailing information so that Sarah can send you the playset.
To increase your grandchild’s chance of winning, tell all of your daughters and daughters-in-law to post a comment. Have your sons and sons-in-law post a comment. Have your grandchild’s favorite aunt post a comment. The more comments from your family gives you grandchild more chances of winning!
I think Grandpa and I will go rent a video and eat some popcorn and some candy — the REAL kind (not the PLAY-DOH version!).

I remember one of the times a friend and I were playing with play-doh (almost 20 years ago) and she kept sneaking pieces of it into her mouth. She made it seem sooo devilishly good as she savored it that I finally caved in and started to stick a tiny piece in my mouth. I think it barely touched my tongue (or maybe it didn’t even have to touch it?) before I threw it down. I will always remember that absolutely horrible flavor.
However, I think I was able to enjoy play-doh a lot more, while playing with this particular friend, knowing that it’s a blast to play with but not in the least bit curious as to how it tastes.
You know, I’ve written my comment out TWICE and it’s messed up both times after clicking submit. I didn’t learn my lesson the first time so I didn’t copy it and don’t really feel like writing my play-doh memory again.
I do remember my mom NOT loving me using her garlic press to make noodles out of play-doh though…
I was way to fussy to let my kiddos play with Playdough as a young mother. Oh my how we relax when we grow up and become grannies……we now play with it alot. Always at Christma we make ornaments for the tree. Wish I had been this relaxed with my own kids.
The grandkids and I recently had a ball playing with the Play-Doh Fun Factory, which by the way first came out 50 years ago. Does that make you feel old?
I’ve tried to leave a comment too many times for me to really rewrite my momories of playdoh.
However, I do remember how much my mom did NOT appreciate me confiscating her garlic press to make spaghetti!
I think that Playdoh is an essential to childhood creativity. I have lots of memories of playing with it (such as making a bird nest, etc.). It is also fun to play with as adults when playing Pictionary (except you use the Playdoh to make the object instead of drawing it out).
Sure would love to have some Playdoh at our house!
Woohoo! I found your cool site in time to put my name in the drawing. My grandkids and I are real playdoh fans. Thanks!
Bonnie — glad you found your way here. Hope you get ideas of fun things you can do with your grandchildren!
