In my post about easy New Year’s Resolutions, I suggested that you say ‘I love you’ more often. That is a resolution that is easy to keep.
At least it should be!
So, it is with great pleasure that I share a wonderful children’s book with you that’s all about telling your grandkids just exactly how much you love them.
The book shows several different lengths of measurement and asks: Do I love you this much? And, of course the answer is “I love you more.”
Then, at the very end, the book gives the ultimate declaration:
“My love for you is infinite!”
(Sorry. I should have given you a spoiler alert before I gave away the ending. I’m such a rapscallion! Sigh . . .)
There are several things that I really like about this book. First, children learn in a fun way about different types of measurements: an inch, a foot, a yard, and a mile. It builds from small, to larger, to larger, and larger. It’s easy for children to understand the concept of the increase in size.
Second, it’s a fun way for a grandparent (or parent) to declare their love for a child. Imagine, snuggling on the sofa with a grandchild while reading this book. As you read, you have the opportunity to tell your grandchild 8 times that you love her. That’s wonderful! If you accompany that declaration with a hug and a kiss, there will be no doubt in your grandchild’s mind that your love for her is absolute.
Third, the colors of this book are very appealing. They are vibrant, bright, and eye catching. Children will love all of the color splashed across the pages. (I certainly did!) I love the yellow-green pages. I love the orange ones, the purple ones, the blue ones. Well. I guess that means I love all of the pages. Woot, woot!
This would be a great addition to your library. Then, it can be on hand to read to your grandchildren when they visit you. It would be a great birthday, Valentine’s Day, or a ‘just because’ gift to a grandchild — especially if the grandchild lives far away. While the miles might keep you apart, your grandchild can read the book and reaffirm your love for her.
You can purchase a paperback copy of the book on Amazon for $9.26. Or, you can get a Kindle version for only $3.99. Sweet!
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the book to review. But that did not influence my opinion of it in any way.
