How was your Thanksgiving, Dear Friends?
Lots of turkey? Pumpkin Pie?
We had 25 people for dinner. Half of them were 8 years old or younger — which made for some wild and crazy moments at times. But, they are the cutest ever kids because most of them were my grandkids!
Afterwards, we played a few games. Some took naps. (The dads and NOT the babies!)
We nibbled and nibbled the rest of the day and into the evening on the yummy leftovers. (I LOVED the pomegranate salad that my sister brought.) I don’t even want to step on the scales to see how much weight I gained!
Let’s party now!
If you are like me, you’ll find yourself saving things thinking that some day you could use them for a craft with the grandkids. Kileen at Raven would shared the perfect solution for those empty ribbon spools! She showed how to recycle the cardboard ribbon spools into Christmas decorations. I loved how she used a vintage picture from the Graphics Fairy. This is a terrific and inexpensive craft for grandkids!
I also loved the little gingerbread house shared by Mrs. Chee-Chee from her site Frau Tschi-Tschi. While she is German and used German foods, I think by reading her directions you can figure out what American foods (or foods from whatever country you live in) that you can use instead.
Grandkids would love making these little houses. They would be much easier than baking gingerbread from scratch and using frosting to put a house together.
Her site is in German. If you use Chrome as your browser, it will translate it into another language that you understand.
I think I’m going to do these activities with my grandchildren this holiday season!
