Pot Of Gold Activity

This Pot of Gold craft is a fun St. Patrick's Day activity for young kids to make.

Does it seem like there are a plethora of activities for Valentine’s Day and Christmas but not much for St. Patrick’s Day?

That’s what I thought.

So I came up with an easy activity to do with grandkids. (Those are the kind I like best — ones that are inexpensive, take little preparation time, and are easy to do with the grandchildren.)

I call it the Pot of Gold At The End Of The Rainbow activity. This could be part of a St. Patrick’s Day party you have with your grandkids or just an activity sans party. You could also send this in the mail to those far away grandkids. Make sure their parents take a picture of their finished picture and send it to you.

Print up the Pot of Gold coloring sheet. Have your grandchild color it. Squirt a few dabs of glue on the picture where the gold coins are. Have your grandchild press yellow pom poms on the glue. Let it dry and you are finished!

I told you it was easy.

Here are some pictures of the cutest grandkids on earth with their craft activity.

(Psssst. . . . This is the little activity that I did with the grandkids when Studio 5 filmed me for the little spot on their TV program. If I’m not too embarrassed at how silly/goofy I act in the video, I will post a link here on my site so that you can watch it!)

Very cute idea! I tweeted it out the other day. You’re so right about the lack of St. Patrick’s Day activities. I do like this one.

Thank you for linking up to the GRAND Social! Please excuse my tardy visit! (Better late than never, right!?) ?

Your comment has been waiting for me to approve it — and I just noticed it a moment ago. Life is crazy busy and I’m sorry for taking so long at seeing your comment.

I went to your link for the crowns/hats. How delightfully fun! I hope my readers visit it, too. (I’ve also pinned it to my board in Pinterest.)

    Thanks so much for sharing,

I think you should tell the world WHEN you will be on TV so they can all watch live or stream it online. It’s going to be a great little story. You should even send out a newsletter post that you’ll be on Channel 5 this Friday at 11 a.m.!

What a great idea but I think you are going to get a lot of argument from the rest of grandmas as to WHO has the cutest grand children! They are very cute and they do have wonderful smiles but “cuteness is in the eye of the grandma!”

And you have to post the link!!

Oh how fun! Another grand idea is St Patricks Day hats. My grandkids and I did that a couple of years ago. http://www.sandwichINK.com/st-patricks-day-hats-easy-crafts-for-grandkids-and-seniors In fact, we’ve actually enjoyed several fun St Pat’s activities but, sigh, now, they’re older and we pretty much are working on Minecraft (which is fun in another way but definitely needs close supervision!) and wearing green to avoid pinches (which will still come to grandma, just coz they AND I love the laughter that ensues. 🙂 ). Have a lovely green month and Happy St Patrick’s Day to you! 🙂
