Some Technology Fun

Tagxedo is a fun website to create a word cloud. Try it out. It's easy! When it comes to technology, I just can’t help myself.

Is there a 12-step program out there for tech addicts?

I really don’t want to recover from my addiction to technology. I’m doing just fine, thank you very much!

I just HAVE to share a fun website with you.

It’s called Tagxedo. It turns words into fun word clouds. You can enter in the URL of one of your blog posts to create your Tagxedo word cloud. Or you could paste in words from your favorite poem, or words from a love letter that your husband sent you back-in-the-day (meaning when you were dating), or the words from your grandchild’s favorite picture book.

Or, you could put in whatever words your little pea pickin’ heart desires.

There are lots of shapes to choose from. I made a leaf shaped word cloud…

I also made a cat shaped word cloud…

Other shapes include a stiletto shoe, a kangaroo, a key, Abe Lincoln, a music note, an elephant, a witch’s a hat, q bus, q tea kettle, a footprint, a star, and much, much more.

And, there are tons of themes (sets of colors) to choose from, too. After you’ve selected your theme color, you can ‘spin’ the colors which changes the colors of the words. You can keep spinning until you get colors that you like.

When you are finished, you can save it as a jpg image. Or print it up and frame it or use as a card. Or save it as an IFrame code snippet which is code that you can use to put on your website that will be interactive when someone mouses over it. (Like my example above.)

This would be a great activity to do with a grandchild on a cold winter’s day. You could work together to create a Tagxedo word cloud.

Or, this would be something fun that you could share with your grandchildren that live far away. Simply send them the URL for the site and ask them to create something and then share it with you. You could create something to send back to those kiddos.

Here’s to having fun with technology with your grandchildren!

(Note: this was shared on Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson’s link party.)

Thanks for sharing!
