Valentine Bingo

What does Valentine’s Day plus grandkids plus heart-shaped Valentine conversation candy equal? A par-tay!

And what do you need for that party? A fun activity that grandkids of all ages can play together. That’s what!

What type of game is that? you ask. How can a three-year-old grandkid play Bingo with a seventeen-year-old grandkid? Without the seventeen-year-old wishing bamboo shoots could be shoved under his fingernails rather than playing Bingo with his little cousin?

Well, that activity is Bingo. Kids of all ages (and even adults!) can play Bingo at the same time without any problem.

And do you know what keeps everyone happy playing the game regardless of the age of other players?

Candy markers, that’s what!

Of course. Everybody loves candy.

You’ll need those little candy Valentine conversation hearts. And some cherry-flavored JuJu heart candy. Some cinnamon-flavored jelly hearts. Or cinnamon bears. Pink and red M&Ms would work, too. Or, Gobstoppers, Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids. Any type of candy that’s tasty would be absolutely fine. (Just make sure that you have plenty of candy to cover all of the markers that get eaten while the game is in progress . . . )

So. I’ve created said Bingo game for said Valentine party for said grandchildren.

You’re welcome.

Here is a Valentine Bingo master that you can print out to use as your Bingo cards. I recommend that you print them on card stock and then either laminate them or cover them with clear contact paper.  They’ll last longer that way.

Here is the master Valentines callout sheet for whomever is calling out the Bingo pictures.  I suggest you print this out twice (on card stock and laminate).  Cut one of them into the individual squares.  Whoever is the caller can pick out one from the pile, show it to the other players, and then place it on the master call out sheet to keep track of which Valentine pictures have been called out.

As long as you have plenty of candy, I predict that you’ll keep all players happy. Happy indeedy!
