(NOTE: I was given a free game but all opinions are my own.)
We can agree that everyone loves Disney, right?
Well, Disney has just come out with a trivia game like no other! One that the whole family can play. All together. Really! From an old fogey grandma (like me) all the way down to pre-school grandkids (like my grandson Isaac). Everyone can play together — but beware. Granny just might need help from the wee ones. (Don’t ask me how I know.)
To set up the game, place the 3D Points of Interest on their respective colors. There are 5 of them. You can see the pink and red ones in the picture below.
Then, place all of the small color swirls on their corresponding 3D Point of Interest. (If you look really close in the picture below, you can see them in the circle section of the Point of Interest.)
Then battle it out select your playing piece. (The game pieces in the picture below have all of the color swirls on them.)
Set out the cards. There are 2 sets — one for kids and one for adults. Obviously, the set for the kids has easier questions. I love the designs on the backs of the kids cards. They’re bright and colorful and are of various Disney characters.
Set out the game spinner. Players put their game piece at the beginning of the board on the Mickey Mouse space. (That’s the starting place.)
The object is to be the first person to collect each color swirl and reach the Disney Archway Finish.
The game is all set up so let’s play!
The youngest player goest first. She spins the spinner and moves her game piece the number of spaces indicated.
The player on her right draws a card. If the person answering the question is a kid, use the kids cards. If the player is an adult, use the adult cards (which have more difficult questions). This levels the playing field so that all family players can play together.
The person asks the player the question that corresponds to the color space that you landed on. If you answer correctly, you collect a color swirl, and put it on your game piece. You keep going until you can’t answer the question. Then it’s the next player’s turn.
When it’s my turn, I always opt for answering the kids questions.
Emma reads me a question. I think. And think. And think.
Emma smirks. She knows the answer. She knows that I don’t know the answer.
Remember that I said earlier that the questions for kids were easier? Ha! Not necessarily so — especially for those of us who have seen Disney movies only once and that was years ago . . .
Natalie and Isaac check out just how far ahead they are from me. And it’s FAR. Sigh.
If a player gets to the end and hasn’t gotten all of the color swirls (because they haven’t been able to answer all of the questions — like me), the player has to take a magic carpet ride to the last Magic Portal space and have another go at it. (Ahem. One of the players kept going round and round and round because she didn’t know the answers to the questions . . .)
My family loved this game! We had loads of fun playing it. I think your family will, too. I give this game 2 thumbs up.
Do you have family get-togethers? This game is for you. How about family reunions? (You can play as teams.) Halloween parties? Christmas ones? Family Sunday dinners? This would be an awesome activity for ANY time your family is together.
You can get it on Amazon for $35. (Psst. This would make a great Christmas or birthday gift!)
