One of the best things about being a grandma is that I can nuzzle a grandchild’s warm little neck and smooch the dickens out of it. I also love getting hugs and kisses from my grandchildren.
That got me thinking. Hugs and kisses. And Valentine’s Day. Why not make a special ‘hugs and kisses’ Valentine for my grandchildren? Why not, indeed!
If you like kissing like I do, these Valentines are a hoot to make.
First, gather a tube of lipstick, some loose powder, a powder brush, one square of toilet paper, and a piece of white card stock paper.
Next, print out the first page of my free hugs and kisses template on white card stock paper. (I’ll talk about the second page of the template in just a moment.)
Next, fold the paper so that the left edge of the circle is on the fold. Cut out the circle leaving about 1 inch on the fold side uncut. (This makes it so the card will open.)
Now comes the fun. Put on a thick coat of lipstick and plaster a kiss on the card above the words ‘hugs and kisses.”
Next, place the square of toilet paper over the lipstick kiss on your card. Rub gently yet firmly. This blots the extra lipstick. If you are careful, you won’t smear it.
Next, dip your makeup brush in the powder. Tap it gently on the side of the container to knock off excess powder. Gently brush powder over the lipstick kiss on the card.
Now, you should have a kiss on your card that won’t smear!
Open your card and write your message to your sweet grandchild. If you are sending the Valentine to a grandchild that lives far away, the Valentine will fit inside a regular envelope.
If kissing paper isn’t your cup of tea, print the second page of the template. It already has lips on it. If you want, you can trace around the edge of the lips with glitter glue. (I found a pack of 3 at Christmas time at the dollar store and used the red glitter glue from that.)
You can make these cards for your grandchildren. Or, you can make them WITH your grandchildren. I think granddaughters would have fun planting those kisses on the card.

A great idea for popping in the mail to my grandsons. We like to blow kisses, so this is perfect. Thank you!
I can see why you love to blow kisses. Your grandsons are absolutely darling!!!! It’s amazing to see how much they have grown. I remember when they were first born . . .
I think your granddaughters would love them!
I love this idea. I’m going to try to remember to make some for my granddaughters.
