Last night, my daughter-in-law showed me a fun, cute idea.
Not only is this a great idea for Valentine’s Day, it’s a great idea for those of us whose grand chickabiddies live far away.
(I know that it’s too late for you to do anything about it this year.
I’m showing it to you so you can be prepared for next year.)
Your grandchildren would be absolutely THRILLED to receive something like this in the mail — whether it was for Valentine’s Day, their birthday, or for any ol’ regular, run of the mill day.
You’ve just gotta do it!
Trust me on this!
Here’s a picture of what my grandson received in the mail.
(Was it from his aunt on the other side of the family? From his other grandmother — who is a wonderful, wonderful grandma? I can’t remember . . . I was so taken with the idea that that information leaked out of my cranium into the ether never to be recalled again.)
Wouldn’t this be swell if you’ve been an on the ball grandma like Grandma Briefs and have made a special mailbox for your grandchild? Not only would your grandchild have a super-duper mail box but a super-duper package to go in it!
This is just two pieces of plastic with a few items placed between them and then stitched shut on the sewing machine. This has a Valentine’s theme but you could do this for any holiday or just because you wanted to do something for your grandchildren that lived far away!
(I’m thrilled with the idea of sewing something. This burning-off-all-of-my-fingerprints-with-second-degree-burns-from-the-glue-gun is getting rather irksome. . . . If I were fingerprinted today, I’d have a whole different batch by next month . . .)
I hope you have a lovely day today. May you all consume enough chocolate or candy to put you in a sugar-induced coma for at least a week.

Grandma Lizzie, apparently the post office didn’t complain about the package or reject it. Which is nice. Sometimes postal workers are . . . well . . postal . . .
This is a very creative and fun idea. I think anyone on the receiving end of such a package would have a big smile on their face.
What a great idea. It could be used for so many occasions. Obviously it wasn’t a problem at the post office.
