I know that Halloween is just around the corner.
As in it is tomorrow.
While you might consider this as too last minute, I still wanted to share two crafts and one activity that we did at our family Halloween party.
They are super easy to prepare for.
They are super easy for the grand kiddos to do.
And, they are cheap. Can’t ask for anything more, can you?
First, we made monster stick puppets.
Since my grandkids do not have super great cutting skills, I cut out the monster eyes, ears, nose, and mouths. All they had to do was decide which ones to use and glue them on the monster body.
I used the wide strapping tape to tape the monster body onto a craft stick.
Voilá! The monster was made in mere minutes!
Click here for the monster free printable. These printable were meant to be used on magnets or stickers. But, I thought they would be perfect for stick puppets. And they were. My grandkids loved making these monsters!
Then, we made balloon monsters. Same idea. Glue on monster faces and arms. But this time on a balloon instead of craft sticks. My grandsons got a kick out of pretending they had a monster face. You can get your free balloon monster printables here.
For the super easy activity we had monster cup races.
The grandkids drew a monster face on a styrofoam cup.
I gave them a straw. They lined their monster cup on the edge of the table. When I said go, they blew their monster cup across the table. We raced the monsters several times.
I know that I originally said I would share two crafts and one activity. But on second thought, I decided to share one more easy activity.
We also played pin the eyeballs on the monster. I drew a monster on butcher paper, covered the grandkids eyes with a bandanna, and spun them around a couple of times. Like pin the tail on the donkey, you know.
The reason I just HAD to share this idea is that I loved the eyeballs that we used. I found this delightful free printable of Mike from Monster’s Inc. I love Mike! I love his eyeball! However, the printable of Mike was too small for what I wanted.
So, I just used the eyes — and that’s why I drew my own monster.
The grandkids loved all of these monster activities. And I loved that they loved them. Love was abounding all over the place!
(You know, you could do these monster activities any time with your grandkids. It doesn’t necessarily have to be for a Halloween party. You could do it for a birthday party. Or on a dreary Saturday afternoon. Or on a blistering hot summer day or a drizzly rainy day. ANY day is a good day to make monsters!)

OMGGG…. when I saw the top of the monsters pictures, I thought, “awe…how cute!” and then when I saw the balloons, I just about died laughing. Serioulsy, HOW CUTE! I’m going to share this on my FB wall for my mom to do with my son when she has him sometime. I’m 99% sure they have balloons, and she’ll have him on Wednesday. He’s special needs and LOVES the sounds of his fingers rubbing hte balloons. THANK YOU for sharing on Freshly Messy’s wednesday link up. I needed this today, after a very long day! I hope to see you this Wednesday too. 🙂
I’m so glad that my Halloween balloons lifted your soul! I hope your son can enjoy making them. The balloons are a real hoot!

These are absolutely cute ideas! I am definitely not a crafty idea person. I can do crafts just fine, but coming up with the ideas I’m lost. My mom was always great at these things. I will be trying some of these with my kids for this years Halloween! Thanks for the link up!
Lindsey,
Believe it or not, I’m not crafty either! You’ll never see drop-dead gorgeous crafts here. Super easy and inexpensive is my motto. Hopefully, you’ll find ideas on my site that you can do.
