NOTE: I was given a Fairy Garden Nature Cottage for review but all opinions are my own.
Our daughter-in-law has a little fairy door in a flower pot by her front door. And her kids love it! So, I was thrilled with the opportunity to be able to get a Fairy Garden Nature Cottage to review because I knew that my grandchildren would enjoy helping me with it.
Before beginning, my grandkids had to check out all of the pictures on the box.
Next comes opening the packages that contain all of the parts. Polly’s little fingers just can’t quite grasp the plastic to pull the bag apart.
These kids can put Legos together like nobody’s business. So they easily followed the directions to put the flowerpot together.
Checking directions to make sure everything is complete.
And once it’s all put together, one has to play with it now doesn’t one? Gotta put the ladybugs in — and out and in — their little bug house.
And we have to play with the little tea set that is so adorable!
And we need to fly the butterfly around and around.
My grandkids decided to wait until spring to plant the seeds in the cottage top. That way they could put the cottage outside in the flowerbed by their front door.
However, they did put water in the stream area so they could float the lily pads and put the frogs on the lily pads. (Water can keep kids entertained for a long time. Just saying.)
I was impressed with how sturdy this fairy garden set is. I think it will last a long time.
I was impressed with how easy the pieces snapped together. It doesn’t take a strong adult. Kids will feel successful because they can do it themselves.
I love all of the thought that went in to making this cottage — to include a mushroom, the ladybug home, lily pads complete with frogs, a wind spinner decoration, a rain barrel to catch water runoff from watering your garden as it grows, and a table and tea set to go inside the cottage.
I like that the dirt and seeds came with the package. Parents won’t have to make a separate trip to the store to get them.
It also came with the cutest little scoop so you can scoop the dirt over the seeds as you plant them.
There was supposed to be an attachment to hold the fairy in the air. Ours didn’t come with the attachment. Maybe it was overlooked when everything was packaged. But my grandchildren were slightly sad that the fairy wouldn’t be able to ‘fly.’
The cottage came with a really cute arched bridge. It just sat on the garden wall. That means it gets knocked over really easy. I wish that it could snap onto something to hold it in place.
This charming fairy cottage will sure be a hit with kids. It would make a great Christmas (or birthday) present for a child!
You can get this Fairy Garden Nature Cottage on Amazon or at Wal-mart for $25. It’s for ages 4 and above.
