National Knock Knock Joke Day

Celebrate National Knock Knock Joke Day which is on October 31.

I just found out that there are two holidays on October 31st and not just one.

Of course, everybody knows that October 31st is Halloween. Kids, eager to get a haul of candy, won’t let their parents forget that the big gimme-candy-day is just around the corner.

But, did you know that October 31st is also National Knock-Knock Joke Day?

Who knew?

I think it is fabulous to have two holidays on the same day. Two for the price of one!

So, grandmothers, if you are having a Halloween party with your grandchildren, why not incorporate some knock-knock jokes into your activities.  Here are a couple to get you started.

Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
Aida.
Aida who?
Aida sandwich for lunch today.

Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
Adore.
Adore who?
Adore is between us. Open up!

Knock Knock!
Who’s there?
Cash!
Cash who?
No thanks, but I’d like some peanuts.

Knock, knock!
Who’s there?
Spell.
Spell who?
W-H-O

And my husband’s favorite:
Knock Knock
Who’s there?
Adair!
Adair who?
Adair once but I’m bald now!

If you need some knock-knock jokes, you can go to Funology for their jokes. Or, you can go to Aha Jokes to get a collection of them.

Or, maybe you might want some Halloween jokes like these.

Q. What does a little ghoul call his parents?
A. Mummy and Deady.

Q. Why did the baby ghost cry?
A. He had a boo boo.

Q. Why didn’t the skeleton go sky diving?
A. He didn’t have the guts.

Q. Why didn’t Dracula have any friends?
A. He was a pain in the neck.

You can find some Halloween jokes on the Jokes by Kids site.

If you have older grandchildren, you can divide into teams and take turns asking the opposite team the questions. If they guess the answer, they get a point. The team with the most points wins.

If your grandchildren are younger, you can have them draw slips of paper out of a plastic pumpkin and just tell the joke.

You could make bingo cards with the some of the words from the jokes.  Then, have the grandchildren take turns reading the jokes. If they have a word from the joke on their bingo card, they can put a candy corn on the square. When they get bingo, you can give the grandchild something fun like a fun-sized candy bar, a Halloween sticker, or a pencil with a Halloween design on it.

Have a jolly good time telling knock-knock jokes and celebrating Halloween!
