Note: I was given copies of these activity books but all opinions are my own.
Bright. Colorful. Fun. Creative. These are just a few adjectives to describe the two Sticker Smart Art books Around the World and Colors and Shapes.
Each PBS kids book has 30 pictures and loads of geometric stickers in the back. Kids can choose which stickers they want to use to ‘color’ in the pictures.
In Colors and Shapes children can put stickers on a wide variety of things such as a dinner table, an ice cream cone, a robot, or a toy.
How about making a red drum set? A black bicycle? A pumpkin with purple eyes? No problem.
Here is my granddaughter giving a bee some lime green wings and making an orange spider to match an orange caterpillar.
Did she have fun with this activity book?
I think this picture answers that question.
In Around the World kids there are mountains, forests, trains, icebergs, and farms just waiting for stickers!
There is also a page of kids bicycling past windmills. Our son (her father) lived in the Netherlands for a while so our family loves windmills — and tulips!
My granddaughter made an orange and red tent. (She likes to go camping with her family!)
Each PBS kid book is more than just something fun to do. They help kids build fine motor coordination and spatial recognition while encouraging creativity.
There’s only one small drawback. Once the stickers are put on a page, they are rather hard for little fingers to pull off. Younger kids will need help removing them. But the nice thing is that the stickers are reusable. They aren’t damaged when you pull them off the page.
These activity books are for kids ages 3 and up. You can buy a copy of Sticker Smart Art: Colors and Shapes on Amazon for $10. You can get Sticker Smart Art: Around the World on Amazon for $10.
