(Que Irish brogue.)
I thought that I would do a wee round-up of some of me most popular St. Patrick’s Day activities for the wee lasses and laddies.
Could you hear the brogue? Wonderful.
Now, just imagine it for the rest of my post! I don’t think I could write the brogue very effective for the whole shebang!
As I look at my stats, there are 4 St. Patrick’s Day posts that have been very popular.
Not only were they popular with you, Dear Reader, but also with my grandkids.
Not the actual posts, mind ye. That actual doing of the activity.
I do believe that your grandkids would have fun with them, too.
Let’s take a look at them.
The first one is making a St. Patrick’s Day wreath.
I explain how to make the wreath and provide you with free printables to make it. You can have plain green shamrocks or use the rainbow shamrocks that I created just for you! This is super easy — and quick — to do.
The next activity is the Shamrock in a Bowl game.
You’ll notice that I used a paper plate. I thought that it would be easier for my younger grandchildren to have something flat to put their shamrocks into instead of a bowl. Older grandchildren could probably put them in a bowl without a problem.
I explain how to play the game and give you free printables of the shamrocks and the gold coins that we used. You can also see a short video of my granddaughter playing it.
The next idea is the Pot of Gold Ball Toss.
In this game, grandchildren toss a soft ball trying to hit the pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. They can hit the pots in numerical order or they can add up the points of the pots that they hit. Of course, I give directions on how to play and free printables of the pots of gold.
And last, but not least, is the Shamrock Dice game.
I played this once with the grandkids when there were almost a tad too young. Taking turns was a hard concept for them to understand. They just wanted to start rolling the dice and keep rolling. They didn’t want to wait for others to take their turn. So, I let them roll their dice all at the same time. Gotta roll with the punches, eh?
Of course, I have free printables for this game, too
Have fun playing these St. Patrick’s Day games — and may the luck of the Irish always be with ye!
