Almost 5 years ago, I discovered an augmented reality app for kids created by QuiverVision and wrote about it here. I was gobsmacked by what it could do.
They created pages that kids could print out and color. And then with their app, that flat piece of paper became a 3-dimensional moving picture. Yes! Moving! (Check out the swimming fish in my previous post. It is awesome!)
Well, QuiverVision has expanded. Lots! One of their addition is the QuiverFashion app which is available for iOS and Android. When I saw that, I knew immediately that I had to do this activity with my granddaughters!
I printed out a couple of pages from their fashion packs and brought out some colored pencils.
My granddaughters colored away.
Then the fun began.
I had the app on my iPad. We opened it up and pointed it at the flat page. Remember. This is merely a flat page! Here’s the flat page that Natalie colored.
And here is what it looks like when viewed with the app. (At the end of the videos, I put my hand in the picture so that it looks like the model is standing on my hand. You’ll have to look really close to see it!)
One of the cool things you can do with the fashion app is to change what the model is wearing.
Don’t like the shoes? No problem. Swap them out.
Want a different dress. Okey dokey. Change it.
As many times as your granddaughters want.
(The cool thing for grandmothers is that there isn’t a pile of clothes on the floor when your granddaughters are finished! All of the clothes are in the app!)
Another fun thing you can do in the app is have your model walk down a runway in a fashion show.
There are currently only 2 fashion packs so you’re limited in your choice of pages to print.
But when I first discovered QuiverVision, they didn’t have very many packs. Now there are 32. So I expect that in the future there will be more.
QuiverVision also has an educational app. It has 20 coloring packs that look way fun.
So, there are lots of coloring pages for you to print and have your grandkids color. Then, they will have a blast using the augmented reality app to view them!
I promise!

I love this. I can’t wait for my grand daughter to be old enough. May be I should research it.
Definitely research it! And have fun!!
This is amazing!! Now I want to try it for myself! And it gives me an excuse to color. 🙂
