A little reading witch. Hmmmm. What types of books do witches read? Science fiction? Horror stories? (What do they think of Stephen King’s novels? I wonder.)
Well, this little reading witch doesn’t read those types of books. She’s into her spell book. Totally. Spells about turning little brothers into toads. Spells about making skin go green — especially on that pesky kid in Algebra. Spells to turn yourself invisible when you want to get out of cleaning your room.
To make your own little reading witch, you’ll need:
- my free reading witch printable
- scissors
- glue stick
Download and print my free download.
Then, cut out everything.
Emma is engrossed in her cutting.
Spread glue on the back side of the black rectangle. Press it on the back side of the witch’s ‘rectangle’.
Flip the witch over so you can see her face. Trim the edges around the rectangle to cut away any white that might be around the edges.
Fold the bottom of the black rectangle up to the edge of the rectangle that extends from the witch’s shoulders.
Fold the witch’s ‘arms’ inward so the fold is by the witch’s shoulder.
Glue on the witch’s hands. Make sure you get the hands on the correct side by having the thumbs pointing up. (It wasn’t until my grandkids were gluing on the hands that I realized that the hands were green but the witch’s face was flesh colored. Oh well.)
Glue the sleeve ends together.
Fold the book in half and glue it to the witches hands. Make sure you put the thumbs on the backside of the book.
Ta duh! Your little reading witch is finished.
These kiddos love their little reading witch. Such a fun craft!
