Okay folks, it’s been a little while since I’ve shared something technological with you.
Are you ready for more technology?
Ready for something easy?
Ready for something that your tween and teen grandchildren (and of course you) could have fun with?
Huzzah! Then let’s get started.
It is a site that I just stumbled across that lets you create posters. It’s called Recite This. Here’s how it works.
You type in a saying or quote, pick a style, click their little create button and voilá! You have a poster.
They have a couple of Christmas themes so I made a couple of posters using them.
I have as much artistic skill as a blade of dried June grass. So, even though these themes are rather simple, they are better than what I could create on my own.
You can also create posters with your own sayings. Something like this.
Once you have created your poster, you have several options of what you can do with it. You can download it and save it to your computer. Or, you can post it on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, or whatever — assuming that you have accounts with those sites.
Or, your grandchild could print it up and put in her locker at school. Or print and hang on her wall at home — or on her bedroom door as a warning sign to her siblings to stay out. Or e-mail it to a friend.
There are two things that I think you need to be aware of before you make your poster.
First, there’s only about 40 themes to choose from. This might not be a problem for you or your grandchildren. But there is the possibility that there wouldn’t be a theme that would fit with what you want to say.
Second, you don’t have a lot of size options when it comes to printing. They print best on 8.5 x 11 inch paper — or smaller. If you want it a bigger size, this isn’t the site for you.
You can make special posters about your grandchildren and put them on your fridge. Then, when they visit, they would see it and feel special and loved.
All in all, I think this would be a fun site.
Here’s to making fun posters for and with your family!
