I loved coloring when I was a kid.
I love coloring now. (I must still be a kid, huh?)
So, when I found downloadable mandalas to color, I was giddy with artistic glee. (Whatever that is . . . )
But, first, some background info. A mandala is a spiritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism that represents the universe.
Over time, it has also become a generic term for a geographic pattern.
So, these printable mandalas are simply geometric shapes that your grandkids can color.
Man oh man! You’ll be delighted with the free mandalas on the print mandala site.
Here is one that I printed up.
They have over 50 different designs to choose from. Some are fairly simple and some are quite complex. (This one is one of the more simple ones.)
A simple design would be best for young grandchildren so that they don’t get tired of coloring or lose interest.
It might be fun for your grandchildren to save their colored mandalas in plastic sheet protectors in a binder so the pages won’t get bent or ripped. It could be a scrapbook — or brag book — for their designs.
Or, they could frame it and hang on their bedroom wall. Or use it as a birthday card for a friend.
The print mandala site has a sister site called color mandala. Oh Nellie! This just took the whole let’s-color-mandalas activity to a whole new plane.
At the basic level, you can print out a mandala to color. However, this site is also interactive. You can design and print out your own mandala or send it as an e-card. Older grandchildren would really enjoy this.
It also has a feature where you can color a mandala online. You can save and download it or print it up. It is SOOOOOO simple and fun. Just click on a color on the palette and click in the area. The area is automatically colored in. Sweet.
Lookee what I made in just a moment or two.
I hope you have tons o’ fun printing up and coloring mandalas with your grandchildren!

Thank you for sharing this post – what a great way to find lovely things to colour. Mandalas can be so pretty and I love the idea of kids being able to design them by themselves too! Pinned and will share. Hope to see you at the Hearth and Soul Hop again this week – it’s live now 🙂
I love coloring, too! These pages look like so much fun, I can’t wait to get started on them! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Talented Tuesdays!
I recently discovered that coloring books for adults are a new hot item! They say it’s ‘therapeutic’! Didn’t take a rocket scientist to learn that! lol! They could have just asked me. I’ve always loved to color or paint!
Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Those are beautiful!! I think coloring is something that can always help with stress and allow some quiet time in your life. We will always be kids in some way! 🙂 Thank you for sharing this with us at the #HomeMattersParty
Colouring is so much fun and so relaxing. It’s become the thing to do now with many colouring books for adults on sale. I’ve bought several to give as Christmas gifts and have been so tempted for myself but always end up feeling it’s an indulgence I can do without. Now I have a guilt free alternative to buying a book, thanks to your post. There’s something especially relaxing about colouring mandalas – something to do with the repetitive pattern. Looking forward to checking it out. 🙂 Visiting you from Grand Social.
