It’s almost Valentine’s Day.
You’re probably all set. You’ve decorated your home. You’ve already planned (and probably held) a little Valentine party with the grandkiddos.
But, can you take one more Valentine idea?
You will need the pattern for the popup card. You will also need scissors, an Exacto knife, a piece of white copy paper, and a piece of card stock paper in the color of your choosing. (I used pink because that was what I had on hand.)
Rough cut around the pattern. Place the pattern on top of the piece of white copy paper. With the Exacto knife, cut along the solid lines on the pattern. (You might want to use a cutting board so that you don’t scratch your kitchen counter!)
Cut around the outside edges of the pattern.
The next part is a wee bit tricky. Fold along the dotted lines of the pattern. On the dotted lines at the top of the letters, you will need to fold upwards to the top of the card. That is what will make the letters stand out.
Then, fold on the dotted lines at the base of the letters to make it fold shut like a card. Then, place the white paper on top of the pink card stock paper.
You can use a glue stick to glue the white paper to your pink card stock. Or, you could use double sided tape.
Voilà! You have a cute popup card.
It’s now ready for you to write words of endearment to your darling little grandchidlren!!
