This is a super easy Valentine craft that your grandkids will love to make.
And you’ll love it too. There’s little preparation and minimal clean up. And, it’s inexpensive. Wahoo!
Here are the supplies that you’ll need:
- Bar of white soap
- Dishwasher safe Mod Podge
- Foam brush
- Valentine card or napkin
- Scissors
First, let me say that all white soaps are not necessarily white. I used Dial soap and it was more of an off-white than a true white. So you might want to check out the color of your soap before you start doing this with your grandkids to make sure it’s a white color that you like.
Okay now. Let’s get doing this craft!
First, cut out a design from your Valentine or napkin. (Isn’t this lip design cute?)
Next, spread a coat of Mod Podge on the bar of soap. Hint: you might want to do this on the side of the soap that doesn’t have its name carved into it.
Press your design onto the Mod Podge. Be really careful if you are using a napkin. Some colors might fade out into the Mod Podge and you don’t want that because it will look yucky. Please do not ask me how I know this.
Now, apply a top coat of Mod Podge. Again, be careful with adding it so that your color doesn’t bleed out into the area around the design. (I think that if you were using a Valentine that you wouldn’t have any problem with the color bleeding out.)
I had two different styles of napkins so I put the other design on another bar of soap. I thought the Valentine candy design was fun!
See? I told you this was easy.
Let the soap dry several hours before using it. (I imagine that your grandkids probably wouldn’t be jumping into the bath immediately after making this Valentine craft so waiting shouldn’t be problem!)
