Will you be having a family get together for the 4th of July? Or anytime this summer? Will you be having a family reunion?
If so, you’ll probably be looking for some activities for your grandkids to do. Something that gets them moving. Something that gets them to put down their cellphones.
The following outdoor activities do not require very much preparation time and for most of them you won’t have to buy anything. (If you do, the items are inexpensive!) Best of all, you need a group to play them.
So grab those tweens! Gather your teens. Sheesh! ALL family members can play these games. (Well, except for grandma and grandpa. Maybe. If you’re not feeling to speedy, you can pull up a chair in the shade and watch.)
This is a variation of dodgeball where there is only one ball. The object is for the queen’s bodyguard to protect her from getting hit by a ball. Great fun!
Kids always love to play tag. Here are 5 variations that will spice up their game!
Here’s yet another game of tag. This time using glitter!
The object here is to be the last player with a clothespin clipped to his shirt. Will it be you?
My siblings and I played Fox and Geese during the winter time. I absolutely loved it! Here’s a way to play it during the summer!
Monkey Ball is not a game of tag. Sort of. It’s a game of keep away where you’re trying to keep other players from grabbing your ‘monkey tail’ away from you — while everyone is dribbling a basketball!
I hope you and your grandkids have fun playing these games together this summer!
