Thanksgiving Roundup for Kids

Here are three Thanksgiving activities and two Thanksgiving crafts that kids can do to keep occupied while waiting for Thanksgiving dinner!

Sometimes it’s hard for kids to wait for Thanksgiving dinner to be put on the table. They get restless. They get cranky. Grandma gets cranky. The dog gets cranky.

With a teeny bit of preparation beforehand, you can have some simple crafts and activities that grandkids can do to stay busy. Busy is good.

I Spy is always popular with kids. I have a Thanksgiving one you can print up for them.

I have a turkey, pilgrim hat, and cornucopia dice game that you can print up. I have a one-dice version for young kids just learning their numbers and counting. I have a two-dice version for older kids.

This is a wonderful time of year to pause and think of everything you are thankful for. Have your grandkids write something they are thankful for in each leaf on this printable. Display their filled out pages on the fridge or walls or use as a placemat.

Kids love balloons. They will get a hoot out of making these balloon turkeys. Make sure you have plenty of balloons so they can make a whole flock of turkey — and some balloons for generally tossing around (and possibly getting popped).

Turkeys and Thanksgiving go together like milk and cookies. You can’t have one without the other. Use my free pattern to make this craft foam turkey. It is Simple. It is Easy.

I hope this Thanksgiving season adds gratitude and happiness to your life!
