Valentine’s Day is such a fun time for grandchildren — because it’s all about candy. Right?
You know, the box that the heart-shaped candy comes in isn’t very decorative and pretty. Convenient, yes. Cute? Not at all.
So here is a SIMPLE little craft that you can do in ten minutes or less for making a cute container to put candy in to give to your grandchildren, (If you wanted to, you could do this activity with your grandchildren. They could give their candy boxes to their parents or friends.)
Here’s what you’ll need:
- empty match box
- scrap book paper
- scissors, tape, ruler
- ribbon
(If you don’t happen to have cute scrapbook paper on hand, you could simply use construction paper or white copy paper and then draw your own designs. Or put stickers on the paper.)
Measure and cut a piece of paper that will wrap around the match box. Tape one end of the paper to the box. As you wrap the paper around the box, crease the paper at each edge.
When the paper is wrapped all around the box, tape it down. Add some curling ribbon. And then fill with candy and you are done. Wasn’t that a piece of cake? (My kind of craft activity!)
