I’m not sure if you’ve noticed or not but the crafts that I like best are easy and inexpensive. Valentine tea lights are exactly my kind of craft!
Here’s what you will need:
- an empty bottle (like a baby food jar or small jam jar)
- Mod Podge
- sponge brush
- scissors
- tissue paper
- battery powered tea lights
Cut a piece of paper that wraps completely around the jar. Spread a layer of Mod Podge all over the jar. Put the tissue paper around the jar and press down firmly. Cover the tissue with a coat of Mod Podge.
Let the Mod Podge dry. I did three jars because I really liked the pattern of the tissue paper and because I had the jars and because I was having so much fun.
When the Mod Podge is dry, put a tea light in the jar and light it up! (See. I told you this was an easy craft.) I like the battery powered tea lights because you don’t have to worry about fire around the grandkids.
Here’s a picture of them in the dark. (I’m always in the dark . . . just ask my husband! )
You can make these with your grandchildren or you can make them and give them to your grandchildren as a little Valentine’s Day gift from grandma. Either way, your grandkids will love them!
