My granddaughters recently stayed with us for a couple of days. We had loads of fun.
One of the things that we did was to make a super easy patriotic craft. They loved it!
Would you like a patriotic craft to do with your grandkids? One that is super easy? Inexpensive? And one that they’ll love doing?
Wonderful!
This one is for you and your grandkids!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Patriotic clip art
- Mod Podge
- Foam brush
- Scissors
- White ceramic tile
- Easel
I got the white ceramic tile from Home Depot. I was super surprised that it cost only eight cents a piece. Eight cents! I was ecstatic. To say the least.
I got the easel from the dollar store. (A great place to get cheap craft supplies.)
I already had Mod Podge and a foam brush.
I printed the clip art at the local copy center for 53 cents.
So, this craft (per tile) cost $1.61. Isn’t that awesome?
Okay. Let’s get started on how to make these little fellas.
First, download the clip art document and print on a laser printer. (If it isn’t printed on a laser copy, the color will smear when you use the Mod Podge.)
Do a rough cut around the images. This means that you can leave about an eighth of an inch of paper around the edge of the picture.
At first, I thought that I would pour the Mod Podge on wax paper so that my granddaughters could dip the foam brush in it and spread it on the tile. (That’s why you see wax paper in some of the pictures . . . )
My granddaughter said to just pour it on the tile.
Smart kid!
Spread the Mod Podge over the tile with the brush.
Press one of the clip art images onto the Mod Podge. Make sure the image is firmly pressed down.
Spread a layer of Mod Podge over the image.
Set the tiles aside while the Mod Podge dries
When it’s dry, put the tile on an easel.
Ta da! You’re done!
See?
I told you this was an easy craft!
