Spring is finally here!
The ornamental pear trees that line our driveway are blooming and I love it! Our daffodils and tulips are up. Our grass is green. (So are the weeds . . . )
Don’t you just love spring? Especially because the weather is getting warmer and the snow is gone.
This is a perfect time to do a tulip flower craft with the grandkids! A way to celebrate spring and welcome it in.
This craft is super easy and super inexpensive to make. And a super easy one for grandma to prepare. Wahoo!
Here’s a list of the items that you’ll need:
- my free tulip pattern
- colorful paper (copy paper)
- colorful straws
- colorful paper cup
- scissors
- paper hole punch
Print the tulips on several sheets of colorful paper. Cut them out.
Start at the bottom of the flower and do a fan fold all the way to the top — which won’t take much effort because the flowers are not very big at all.
Use the paper punch to punch a hole in the middle of the folded flower. (Little grandkids might not have enough strength to punch a hole through all of the folds so grandma just might have to do it . . . assuming that grandma has the strength to do it!)
Slightly unfold the flower and push a straw through the holes. Keep the straw below the top of the flower.
Use the scissors to punch a hole for each of your flowers in the bottom of a paper cup. Be careful not to make the hole too big. (Don’t ask me how I know this.)
Push the straw through the holes in the cup.
Voilá! Your tulip flower craft is finished.
Your tulips are just as colorful and bright as a freshly picked bouquet.
Well almost.
